Piano Lessons
Piano tuition is available from age 5 upwards with no age limit!
All standards from beginner to diploma are taught.
Lessons take place in my music studio in my family home, on my Yamaha C5 grand piano.
Requirements
Piano students need a piano. Digital keyboards are also acceptable if they have a sensitive touch and at least three octaves.
Music books – which depend on the level of the student, are also needed.

Standard lessons are booked in advance per term with a regular weekly time-slot allocated per pupil. Up to three pay-as-you-go lessons may be taken as a ‘trial’ before committing to a term.
It is also possible to arrange a more flexible time, ie fortnightly.
Beginner lessons are 30 minutes. More advanced students may need 45 – 60 minutes.
Discounts are available for lessons of more than 30 Minutes, and for families who attend 2 or more 30 minute lessons per week.
New pupils are given a schedule which outlines the dates of lessons and the fees. I also have a comprehensive terms of business which I invite you to read before committing.

From time to time I organise student recitals to which parents are invited. This gives pupils a chance to play in ‘public’ and experience the delight of giving music for others to enjoy.
Also, on occasion, an examiner from ABRSM may also be invited to take a masterclass pre-exam!
These are also sociable occasions!
Participation is optional!

Exams are optional!
The goal is to enjoy playing and not feel pressurised to perform or be examined.
If taken, pupils are entered for the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams.
